Why FTP Today » Compare Us » Redundant Storage Systems
High Performance Storage Arrays FTP Today's storage systems are scalable using a Storage Area Network (SAN) with redundant array controllers in every server connected to the SAN. Our RAID controllers are hardware controllers as opposed to the typical low cost, low performance software controllers used by most, if not all, our competitors. Our SAN devices are then monitored 24/7 to alert us of any failures or potential failures of any kind. For hard drives, we use only the highest performance Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) drives that are configured in a RAID Level 6 architecture in our SAN. RAID-6 allows for the simultaneous failure of two hard drives without any down time and without any loss of data. Our storage arrays accept hot loading of additional or replacement hard drives, thus there is no downtime even for hard drive maintenance or storage expansion.
