FAQ » Does FTP Today back up my data?
Does FTP Today back up my data? Yes, with Continuous Data Protection (CDP).
In the rare event of a system failure more serious than that which our purpose-built redundancies already protect, every FTP server is further protected by a Continuous Data Protection (CDP) backup system. Built for Disaster Recovery We take server snapshots every 4 hours and keep a minimum of 15 recovery points. This means we can restore a complete system to the state it was in no more than 4 hours prior to system failure. Built for Convenience In the event you accidentally delete something from your site, our 4-hour snapshots and 15 recovery points allow us to go back up to 60 hours from the time you notify us of your mishap and recover any file or files you may have deleted. Our CDP Backup system uses a Storage Area Network (SAN) and is not tape-based. No off site backups are either made nor are necessary to protect your data. The practice of not taking data off site is a standard requirement of many of the industries that we serve, for example those companies under HIPAA regulations must be assured that for privacy reasons their data is kept safe and is not copied to tapes that are carried off site or retained for several days after the original file is deleted.
