FTP Today
announced its data center has successfully completed
a SAS-70 Type I audit, an internationally recognized
auditing standard developed by the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Performed by a
major public accounting and auditing firm, the SAS-70 is
an independent report on the design of our data center’s
business processes.
The SAS-70 report was obtained to demonstrate to
regulated and security conscious companies that we have
internal controls and procedures related to our data
center operations and services. The SAS-70
controls description is broader in scope than claims
audited in many SAS-70 audits completed by leading
providers. In addition to the physical security measures
covered in a typical facility SAS-70 audit, our data
center audit covers a gamut of information security,
network performance, network monitoring, data back-up,
disaster recovery, and other controls such as Service
Level Agreements.
“Achieving a SAS-70 report sets us apart from other
providers,” Martin Horan, CEO of FTP Today stated.
“Knowing that our data center has met the industry’s
highest standard provides customers with complete
confidence that we provide world-class FTP hosting
services with the utmost in quality assurance.” |

FTP Today
announces that it is now peering with 37 other
networks at the Palo Alto Internet Exchange (PAIX), the
original Internet Exchange point where major Telecom
carriers, Internet providers, and content networks
exchange Internet traffic.
What this means is that FTP Today is now connecting
directly to these 37 networks, so Internet traffic from
FTP Today customers can reach its destination
significantly faster. For example, Internet traffic
bound for Japan may have previously gone through 6-10
different networks or "hops" to reach its destination.
With the new peering arrangement in place, traffic can
go from FTP Today in San Francisco to PAIX in Palo Alto
and then directly to Tokyo via Japan Telecom. |
