FTP Today has updated all its HTTPS settings to limit the choice of SSL ciphers available to various web browsers for SSL/TLS handshaking. The most significant change is the requirement of TLS 1.2 and the elimination of support for TLS 1.0 and TLS 1.1.

In our recent workshop, Custom Branding Colors, I walked customers through how to customize the branding of their FTP Today Web App. Here at FTP Today, we understand how important it is to brand the software you use for your company. Color "schemes" and "themes" were inflexible and are a thing of the past, Customizing your file sharing web app is now significantly improved. Attendees of the workshop learned the four steps to customize the branding of their web app.

In a recently conducted online webinar titled "File Sharing: Introducing... InfiniShare", founding and acting head of FTP Today Martin Horan discussed one of the newest features that the company was rolling out to customers all over the world, InfiniShare. The feature brings with it a wide range of different benefits designed to support existing workflows and extend the functionality of FTP Today deeper into the world of business than ever before.

Yesterday, September 15, 2016 we held a webinar to introduce our new file sharing feature called InfiniShare. This will allow users to create download links to some of their files -- links that can then be shared with third parties that will not require login accounts in order to download the files.

As of January 12, 2016, MIcrosoft formally dropped support for all versions of Internet Explorer prior to version 11. There are a few temporary exceptions, such as IE9 on Vista. A complete list of browsers still receiving security updates from microsoft can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle#gp/Microsoft-Internet-Explorer.

In a recent online workshop titled "WebApp 2.0 Launch Preview" that was conducted in 2016, Martin Horan (founder and acting head of FTP Today) discussed the impending launch of the company's WebApp update. The new version of a company's FTP site features a number of enhancements and new options that will help make FTP Today a much more valuable part of their organization.

With the updated FTP Today WebApp 2.0, users now have an Upload Queue when uploading files or folders from their local system to the FTP site.

With the updated FTP Today WebApp 2.0, users now have an additional means by which to Rename, Download, Cut, Copy or Delete a file or folder. These are called Action icons.

With the updated FTP Today WebApp 2.0, users now have the ability to navigate to any folder on the FTP site using the directory tree. This feature works just like Windows Explorer.

Recently, we hosted a live workshop event to discuss the history, evolution, and the future of FTP Today and our web file transfer software. We began first by taking a look at our offerings, the environment, and our compatibility with Java and Java’s 400 security issues since 2007.

Users of the FTP Today WebApp can now select multiple files and folders from the current directory and then click the Download button. This will automatically create a Zip file with the contents selected. Once downloaded, the standard Zip file can be easily opened or extracted to their local file system.

FTP Today customers can now configure user access restrictions based on a user's remote IP address and/or protocol. This new module adds yet another layer to the security features already included with all subscription plans -- limiting access at the site level by protocol and by country of origin.

Those administrators that want to submit public SSH keys for user authentication will no longer have to contact FTP Today support. Control over inserting SSH keys and requiring that key for authentication are now accessible from the Manage User icon (magifying glass next to the username).

FTP Today has deployed our new web interface for secure file transfer to all customer FTP sites. The new interface has been in development for many months in an effort to eliminate any and all obstacles to end user browser compatibility.

As of December 12, 2012, the following updates have been made to the Log History system. As a reminder, the log_history workspace contains detailed logs of all activity on your site. These logs are contain a complete history of all activity since the site was first provisioned, whereas detail reports on the Reports tab only go back up to 90 days.

In conjuction with the new ability to Allow Users Control Panel Access, we have added some Password Options, found on the Users tab. There are three Basic Password Options, that were explained in another blog post and are included with all current hosting plans (Group, Secure, Business & Enterprise).

Now, with Groups and User and Workspace edits, you can effectively create multiple "sub FTP sites" within your FTP Today site. This is an extremely powerful and unique feature in our industry.

On the Reports tab you will now find a new report "Disk Usage by Folder/File". This report can be run in alphabetical order or by size (largest folder first). The latter sort method is the reason we developed this report in the first place, so you could instantly see what folders and files are occupying the largest portions of your storage limit.

Customers whose plans include Email Alerts can now customize the From Address, the Subject and a body Intro Clause to appear in any email alerts that are set up on their FTP site.

The import process has been updated to allow current users to be modified, new workspaces to be created and user access to be changed. There is the sample import.csv file that is available in siteadmin that explains how everything works.

16 new "metrics" reports are now available on the Reports tab. These reports track various things over time, such as disk usage, traffic, logins, files transfered, and much more.
